ALMOND WEDGES,CHOCOLATE FRUIT HUSKS AND ORANGE SCONES

ALMOND WEDGES
Introduction
This biscuit base dessert with white and dark chocolate topping containing almond flavor is good for a kid’s birthday party.
 

 
Utensils
2 Bowls
1 Saucepan
1 Mould
 
Ingredients (8 Servings)
100 g Dates chopped
4 tbsps Rum
225 g Dark Chocolate
100 g Butter
150 g Treacle
250 g Biscuits
Rind of one Lime
 
Topping
100 g Dark Chocolate
100 g White Chocolate
1 tsp Almond
 
Method
Place the dates in a bowl and pour the rum over the fruits. Soak for 2 hours.
 
Place the dark chocolate in a bowl and melt over hot water. Add the treacle, crushed biscuits, lime rind and the dates.
 
Pour the mixture into a rinsed mould and refrigerate for 2 hours until the mixture is firm.
 
In two separate bowls melt the white and the dark chocolate over hot water. Add a hint of almond flavor to both mixtures.Spoon the dark and white chocolate mixtures alternatively on to the biscuit mixture and drag a fork across to bring in a marble effect
 
Refrigerate for 2 hours and cut into pieces as desired.


Introduction
Yummy treats with dark and white chocolate. It has a creamy texture with a hint of cranberry and brandy.

Ingredients (20 SERVINGS)
100 g Dark Chocolate
100 g Milk Chocolate
25 g Butter
75 ml Crème
Cranberry Jam
1 tbsp Cranberry juice
1 tbsp Brandy
A few Almonds
 
Method
Place the dark chocolate in a little bowl and melt over hot water. Pour the melted chocolate into foil cases, smoothen with a brush and allow to cool.
 
Melt the butter and the white chocolate over hot water. Remove from fire and allow to cool.
Stir the crème, juice and brandy into the butter mixture and keep on fire until the mixture is thick. Remove from fire and allow to cool.
 
Peel the foil cases when the chocolate mixture is firm.Spread the jam over the chocolate mixture. Place the white chocolate mixture on top of the jam.
 
Sprinkle with powdered almonds.

Introduction
These sweet scones with the orange and chocolate flavor are best served with custard for tea.

Ingredients (16 Servings)
225 g Flour
2 tsps Baking powder
50 g Sugar
75 g Butter
Rime of 1 Orange
1 tbsp Orange juice
50 g Chocolate chips
100 g Buttermilk
 
Method
Preheat the oven.
 
Line a baking tray with parchment and keep aside.
 
In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder and mix in the butter. Knead until the mixture becomes similar to breadcrumbs.
 
Mix in the orange juice and rind. Stir in the buttermilk and the chocolate chips and make a soft dough. Do not overmix.
 
Form dough balls and flatten to round shapes.
 
Place on the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes until firm.
